Today’s post includes those releases and updates that have come out since May 24, 2021, including version 12.7 of the Percona Distribution for PostgreSQL, the release of Percona Server for MySQL 5.7.34-37, and new improvements and bug fixes in Percona Monitoring and Management 2.18.0.
Percona Distribution for PostgreSQL 12.7
Percona Distribution for PostgreSQL 12.7 was released on May 24, 2021. It is a collection of tools to assist you in managing PostgreSQL. Percona Distribution for PostgreSQL installs PostgreSQL and complements it by a selection of extensions that enable solving essential practical tasks efficiently. This release is based on PostgreSQL 12.7.

Percona Distribution for MongoDB 4.4.6
On June 2, 2021, we released Percona Distribution for MongoDB 4.4.6, a collection of solutions to run and operate your MongoDB efficiently with the data being consistently backed up. Percona Distribution for MongoDB includes the following components:
- Percona Server for MongoDB is a fully compatible open source, drop-in replacement for MongoDB.
- Percona Backup for MongoDB is a distributed, low-impact solution for achieving consistent backups of MongoDB sharded clusters and replica sets.
This release is based on Percona Server for MongoDB 4.4.6-8 and Percona Backup for MongoDB 1.5.0.

Percona Monitoring and Management 2.18.0
We released Percona Monitoring and Management 2.18.0 on June 1, 2021. It is a free and open-source platform for managing and monitoring MySQL, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL performance. The goal for this small release was to eliminate a lot of bugs and complete some features, including:
- DBaaS – Added the ability for PMM to install the latest versions of the K8s operator into the K8s cluster. There is no longer any need to install the operator manually. Just connect PMM to your K8s cluster and let PMM do the rest.
- Backup Management – Backup functionality was released as a Technical Preview feature and will require specific prerequisites from the user side to be installed.
In addition, there are some new improvements and a list of bug fixes, available for review in the release notes.

Percona Server for MongoDB 4.4.6-8
Also on June 2, 2021, we released Percona Server for MongoDB 4.4.6-8. It is an enhanced, source available, and highly scalable database that is a fully-compatible, drop-in replacement for MongoDB 4.4.6 Community Edition, supporting MongoDB 4.4.6 protocols and drivers. A new feature in this release creates $backupCursor and $backupCursorExtend aggregation stages. (This is a Tech Preview Feature.)

Percona Server for MySQL 5.7.34-37
Percona Server for MySQL 5.7.34-37 was released on May 26, 2021. It includes all the features and bug fixes available in MySQL 5.7.34 Community Edition in addition to enterprise-grade features developed by Percona. A full list of bug fixes can be seen in the release notes.

Percona XtraBackup 8.0.25-17.0
Percona XtraBackup 8.0.25-17.0 was released on June 3, 2021. It enables MySQL backups without blocking user queries, making it ideal for companies with large data sets and mission-critical applications that cannot tolerate long periods of downtime. Offered free as an open source solution, it drives down backup costs while providing unique features for MySQL backups. In this release, there are a number of bug fixes, which are available for review in the release notes.
