We’d like to test few things in regards to MySQL and Innodb scalability with multiple CPUs but we seems to be short of boxes right now, all stuff we have access to is in production right now which makes it not good for benchmark.

Could anyone lend us access to the box with at least 4 cores running Linux or Solaris ?

I have a new quad core Opteron box with Ubuntu 7.04-herd4, 4GB ram. How long would you need it for? One issue might be that remote access is not quite 100% reliable because it’s over wireless, but it would probably still be fine.

how about Mac OS X 10.4.9 (2 cpu x 2 core) ?

Hey Peter,

You may want to try Sun’s evaluation program.

Thanks,

I just ordered a 8 core (2 x X5355), 16 GB, 6x15K SAS (RAID 10) server.

I would be very interested in finding out which version of MySql does best on this platform.

The server will not be online for 1-2 weeks from now. How long would your tests take?

Paul

If you’re still looking for a box, we have a new Quad core Xeon box just in testing at the moment. We can install whatever (free) OS you like and have up to 8Gb RAM if you need it. Give us a shout if you’re still looking.

Hi Peter,

We could give you access to a 8-core/32-thread T2000.
