We have seen number of issues with MySQL Server related to amount of memory you have in the system – these range from problems with large size Query Cache to bad drop table performance with large Innodb Buffer Pool size. As such I wonder how much memory do we really use to run MySQL Server these days ?

Feel free to select multiple sizes if you have multiple kinds of instances in production and for boundary numbers please select the highest range which applies, ie for 16GB system select 16-64GB range. Thank you for your feedback ! I will keep the pool open until the end of the year when it will be frozen so we do not get results from multiple years mixed.

It does give an error if more than 1 is selected.

Thanks… Fixed now. I Enabled multiple choices but forgot to allow more than one of them selected.

Are you able to amend the poll to include the percentage dedicated to memory? I think that would be a very useful too.

What do you mean “percentage dedicated to memory” – do you mean buffer pool size instead of memory on the server ?

Yeah, i was thinking along the lines of what is the percentage of the machine’s total memory that is allocated to the Innodb Buffer Pool. I think that would be a useful statistic.

It is better to see the graph if it is sort by memory instead sort by number of votes

Hi,

It would be good also to know what is the relation that is using the people between:
amount of data / RAM / InnoDB Buffer / number of records

At least, the RAM / InnoDB Buffer.
