Percona Releases Jan 20It’s release roundup time here at Percona!

In our continued effort to make it a little easier for you to keep track of our latest releases and updates, every few weeks a Release Roundup showcases the latest in software updates, tools, and features to help you manage and deploy our software, with highlights and critical information, as well as links to the full release notes and direct links to the software or service itself.

Today’s post includes those which have come out since January 8, 2020, including a logApplicationMessage fix in Percona Server for MongoDB and the addition of the new pbm config command in Percona Backup for MongoDB.

Percona Server for MongoDB 4.0.14-8

On January 9, 2020, we released Percona Server for MongoDB 4.0.14-8, an enhanced, open source, and highly-scalable database that is a fully-compatible, drop-in replacement for MongoDB 4.0 Community Edition. In this version, bug PSMDB-473 has been fixed, to allow running the logApplicationMessage command by any role that has the applicationMessage privilege, such as clusterManager or hostManager.

Percona Backup for MongoDB 1.1.0

Last week, on January 16, 2020, Percona Backup for MongoDB 1.1.0 was released. It is a distributed, low-impact solution for consistent backups of MongoDB sharded clusters and replica sets. For this release, a new pbm config command was introduced to support configuring the store from the command line, and we have improved the processing of timestamps when using oplog. In addition, five bugs have been fixed, including PBM-362 where the pbm backup could fail when called from the primary node if there were no healthy secondaries.

Percona Monitoring and Management 1.17.3

And finally, today (January 20, 2020) saw the release of Percona Monitoring and Management 1.17.3, a free and open-source platform for managing and monitoring MySQLMongoDB, and PostgreSQL performance. This release fixes several bugs, including where the textfile collector was not working after the upgrade from older versions on CentOS 7, producing a lot of errors in the log, as well as bugs PMM-5014 and PMM-5273 where the LVM logical volumes autoresize problem on new AWS deployments resulted in “no space left on device” errors.
