State of the Art for MySQL Multi-Master Replication

Trends in Architecture and Design
24 April 1:00pm - 1:50pm @ Ballroom G

Multi-master replication has been an enduring feature request in the MySQL Community for many years. In this talk we will delve into the different approaches used by Galera, Tungsten, MySQL Cluster, and MySQL replication to understand how they work, then show how to apply them. You'll learn about obvious gotchas like primary key and locking conflicts. We'll work through issues like data drift to unexpected problems with simple queries using NOT logic. Finally, we'll discuss the differences between multi-master on local area networks vs. over long distances. Multi-master is complicated but you can understand it and use it effectively. This talk will help you get there.
