Introducing Java profiling via Flame Graphs

Open Source Databases

50 minutes conference

Beginner

Tracks:
Java

This 25-minute talk aims at introducing basic concepts of profiling Java code via the lightweight-java-profiler. We will see how to collect stack traces, and will then use Flame Graphs to have a dynamic visual display for them. This will allow us to see if our code has room for improvement (and where), in an easy and scalable way. It doesn't matter if you are coding a one-hundred or a one-hundred thousand-line application, the Flame Graph visualizer will make it easy to spot CPU hogs!
