Description

TiDB is a NewSQL database and is compatible with MySQL. It's inspired by Google Spanner and Google F1. In this talk, I will address the following topics: 1. The scalability and performance of the latest TiDB. 2. How we make TiDB to be a hybrid database. 3. How we are making it 10x to 100x faster than MySQL in some complex queries. 4. The experience of how users use TiDB to replace MySQL proxy based solutions, and how they put TiDB in production gracefully. 5. The roadmap and the future of TiDB.

Biography:

Max Liu is the co-founder of PingCAP. He has 10+ years of experience in system infrastructure and software technologies. He is also the co-author of the following open source projects: TiDB, TiKV, and Codis(an open source Redis cluster solution). Prior to PingCAP, he worked at Wandou Labs in the Distributed System Team. Prior to Wandou Labs, he was in the infrastructure team of JD.com, the largest B2C online retailers in China by transaction volume and revenue.

Biography:

Co-founder and CTO of PingCAP, who has focused on distributed system, software architecture for more than 10 years, currently he is in charge of engineering team of TiDB. Before that Ed worked for WandouLabs as staff infrastructure engineer. He is the co-author of Codis, a widely open source distributed redis solution.
