MongoDB 101: What NoSQL is All About

MongoDB 101: What NoSQL is All About

 24 April - 1:30 PM - 4:30 PM @ Room 204
Experience level:
3 hours tutorial

MongoDB is quickly becoming one of the NoSQL standards, but represents a very different way of thinking from traditional RDBMSs. Many database users tend to think of things from the perspective of the transactional DBs that they know and love, but there are other ways of doing things. Let the Percona Solutions Engineering team help you fill out your database resume and become a more knowledgeable user by showing you the basics. No embarrassment (we all start at the same place); just honest discussion. This tutorial aims to give an introduction to users with little or no experience with NoSQL databases to MongoDB. Users that attend the tutorial should expect to come away with a good understanding of: - Installing MongoDB - Setting up a replica set - Using the MongoDB shell for basic administration and CRUD operations - Features of MongoDB including: + Sharding + Replication + Election protocol - Document design & expected behaviors
