February 23-24, 2024

Guadalajara, Mexico

Edith Puclla (Technical Evangelist, Percona) will participate at CCOSS + KCD Guadalajara 2024 at February 23rd -24th and present 2 talks in Spanish:

Kubernetes Operators: The Power of Automation

In this talk, we will cover a simplified overview of Kubernetes Operators, focusing on making the concept understandable for those who are new to the topic. We will begin by explaining the fundamentals of Kubernetes and an example of an application deployed with Kubernetes and its default components. Next, we will explore Kubernetes Operators, their components, how to build them, and why they are relevant in managing applications in Kubernetes. We’ll delve into the benefits of using Operators and how they simplify the deployment and management of complex applications, such as databases.

Breaking the Road in Open Source: Opportunities, Contributions and Career

Do you want to start in open source but don’t know how? In this presentation, Edith will talk about how she started contributing to Open Source, specifically Apache Airflow, and how her contributions facilitated her re-employment after two years of unemployment. She will share these opportunities and how you too can take advantage of them. She will detail her experience making non-technical contributions in Kubernetes and Docker, as well as her path to becoming a Cloud Native Computing Foundation Ambassador, Docker Captain, and working at a company completely dedicated to Open Source, among other opportunities.
