  • Distributed Storage in the Cloud by Peter Zaitsev (CEO and co-founder).

Cloud brought many innovations – one of them is inexpensive, scalable and sometimes secure Distributed Storage options. In this presentation we will talk about distributed storage Options modern clouds offers ranging from elastic block devices and object storage to sophisticated transactional data stores. We will discuss the benefits and new architecture options such distributed storage systems enable as well as the challenges and pitfalls you need to be aware about.

  • Deploying MongoDB sharded clusters easily with Terraform and Ansible by Ivan Groenewold (Architect)

Installing big clusters is always a challenge, and can be a very time-consuming task. At a high level, we need to provision the hardware, install the software, configure monitoring, and set up a backup process.

In this talk, Ivan will demonstrate how to develop a complete pipeline to deploy MongoDB sharded clusters at the push of a button, that can accomplish all of these tasks for you.

By combining Terraform for the hardware provisioning, and Ansible for the software installation, we can completely automate the process, saving time and providing a standardized reusable solution.

  • The State of Open Source Databases in 2021 by Peter Zaitsev (CEO and co-founder).

  • The PostgreSQL Twin Bill: The 7 Deadly PostgreSQL Mistakes & Review of what’s new in PostgreSQL 14 by Matt Yonkovit (Head of open source strategy) & Barrett Chambers (Senior solutions engineer)
