  • Marcelo Altmann (Software Engineer, Percona) will present his talk Online Backup in MySQL with XtraBackup

Percona XtraBackup is a tool open-source for online backup of MySQL servers. In this talk, Marcelo will address basic operation and discuss latest features added to the product such as: Page Tracking, Azure Blob Storage, Support, Exponential Backoff, Keyring Components, Memory Estimation, and others!

  • Charly Batista (Postgres Tech Lead) will talk about PostgreSQL 15: What’s New?

PostreSQL 15 is around the corner, and the new version of this powerful database brings many improvements and new features that can increase performance and facilitate much in the life of DBAs and developers. We will “walk” through the main improvements and added features in version 15.

  • Vinicius Grippa (Lead Senior Support Engineer) will present a talk MySQL 8 – New Features.

In this presentation, we will discuss the news about MySQL 8. Among the topics, we will have new features of security, how to improve monitoring and even how to create replicas more quickly. We will cover DDL improvement such as parallelization, new server status variables (to improve monitoring and health analysis), Performance Schema instrumentation, parallel read threads, DROP / TRUNCATE Operations, REDO log capabilities, EXPLAIN tree format, etc.

Floripa Tech Day, an event that was born in 2017, in a conversation between a group of friends that ended up becoming a reality the following year.
