Sergey Pronin (Technical Product Manager, Percona) will be presenting two talks on DoK Day North America on Tuesday, October 12:

  • Migrating MongoDB to Kubernetes. Kubernetes needs help creating and managing stateful applications like databases. It needs to configure the network, persist storage, and dedicate computing capacity without additional human effort on each container. This talk will include an overview of Kubernetes operators for MongoDB, an explanation of why to use Operators for MongoDB, and how to migrate MongoDB to Kubernetes, and also a demo showing off the migration.

  • Cloud-Native Database as a Service (with Murat Karslioglu (VP of Products, MayaData). Managing complexity is the number one issue faced by Kubernetes architects and practitioners. MayaData and Percona have partnered together to build a unified Helm chart aimed at providing an easy onramp to a highly performant Database as a Service offering. In this talk, Sergey and Murat will demonstrate the joint solution & answer questions on how to run stateful applications in Kubernetes.

About the event.

Data on Kubernetes Community is an openly governed group of technologists who are championing the emergence and development of techniques for the use of Kubernetes for data.

The event will be 100% virtual with an in-person meetup for anyone who is attending the live event. Learn the use cases, techniques, and best practices from those who have been there, done that.
