Percona Distribution for MySQL (PXC Variant) 8.0.20

October 1, 2020, also saw the release of Percona Distribution for MySQL (PXC variant) 8.0.20, a single solution with the best and most critical enterprise components from the MySQL open source community, designed and tested to work together. is focused on the Percona XtraDB Cluster-based deployment variant and is based on Percona XtraDB Cluster 8.0.20-11.

Percona XtraDB Cluster 8.0.20-11

On October 1, 2020, Percona XtraDB Cluster 8.0.20-11 was released. It is a free, open source, enterprise-grade solution that includes the high availability and security features your business needs to meet customer expectations and business goals. Several bugs were fixed in this release, and an improvement is the application of consistent definitions to the index for PXC status variables. In addition, there are some known issues to be aware of, including no useful error messages if an SSL-disabled node tries to join the SSL-enabled cluster, and a log warning at startup if keyring is specified but cluster traffic encryption is turned off.

Percona Kubernetes Operator for Percona XtraDB Cluster 1.6.0

On October 9, 2020, Percona Kubernetes Operator for Percona XtraDB Cluster 1.6.0 was released. It automates the creation, alteration, or deletion of members in your Percona XtraDB Cluster environment and can be used to instantiate a new Percona XtraDB Cluster replica set or to scale an existing environment. The Operator contains all necessary Kubernetes settings to provide a proper and consistent instance. New features in this release include support of “cluster-wide” mode, support of the proxy-protocol in HAProxy, as well as a possibility to restore backups to a new Kubernetes-based environment with no existing Percona XtraDB Cluster Custom Resource. In addition, there are many improvements and bug fixes, along with a note in the release notes about known issues and limitations.
