Percona Release Lifecycle Overview

MySQL Software

This table was updated in March 2026.

Due to low adoption and applicability of MySQL 8.1, 8.2, and 8.3, we will not release Percona software for MySQL Innovation Releases 9.0 through 9.6. Please see:
No MySQL 9.x Innovation Releases from Percona.

Supported Operating Systems and platforms are provided only as 64-bit packages (AMD64 and ARM64). Any OS or platform not listed is considered unsupported, per our
Support Policies. Note that MySQL 5.7 is supported only on AMD64.

The next major version of Percona software for MySQL will be 9.7 LTS. Meanwhile, we continue to release bug fixes and improvements for the 8.0.x and 8.4.x minor versions.

Note: Operating system lifecycle dates are defined by the OS vendor.
The dates listed in the Percona Support EOL column represent the last day that Percona officially supports the listed product/version on that OS. The Percona support EOL timeline may differ from vendor’s own end-of-life dates.

Products:

• Percona Distribution for MySQL (PDMySQL)
• Percona Server for MySQL (PS)
• Percona XtraBackup (PXB)
• Percona XtraDB Cluster (PXC)

1. We support packages for AMD64 and ARM64.
2. The support for the 5.7 version ended in November 2023 (for both Percona Server for MySQL and the community edition). Percona provides paid support through our Post EOL MySQL 5.7 Support – Not ready to give up MySQL 5.7

3. Support and testing were expanded to include Rocky Linux and
   Oracle Linux. Support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
   clones, including Oracle Linux and AlmaLinux,
   was aligned with the official RHEL End-of-Life (EOL) schedule.
   When RHEL reached EOL for a major version, support for that version was
   discontinued across all clones, regardless of any extended support periods
   offered by specific distributions.

   MySQL 5.7 has been officially tested on Rocky Linux 8.
   Rocky Linux 8 was verified for compatibility with all packages and has been added to the automated package‑testing suite to guarantee consistent validation for every future release.

MongoDB Software

Products: Percona Server for MongoDB (PSMDB), Percona Backup for MongoDB (PBM) and Percona ClusterSync for MongoDB (PCSM).

1. Amazon Linux 2023 is available starting with the following product versions:
   • PSMDB 6.0.20-17, PSMDB 7.0.16-10, PSMDB 8.0.4-2
   • PBM 2.9.0
2. We build and test Percona Software for MongoDB on the latest Amazon Linux 2023 versions. Find the compatibility table in the Percona Server for MongoDB 8.0.x , Percona Server for MongoDB 7.0.x and Percona Server for MongoDB 6.0.x documentation .
3. Debian 11 and Debian 12 are not available for ARM64 (AARCH64) architecture.
4. We support and test Percona Software for MongoDB on Rocky Linux and Oracle Linux, following the same Application Binary Interface (ABI) compatibility policy as RHEL.
5. Oracle Linux is only supported when running the Red Hat Compatible Kernel (RHCK). Oracle Linux running the Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel (UEK) is not supported.

PostgreSQL Software

Software: Percona Distribution for PostgreSQL (PDPG)

1. Docker images and packages are also available for ARM 64 architecture.

Percona Kubernetes Operators

Platforms

Percona Operators are designed for compatibility with all CNCF-certified Kubernetes distributions. Our release process includes rigorous testing and validation on cloud provider platforms (AWS EKS, Azure AKS, Google GKE) and Red Hat OpenShift. For specific versions, please refer to the release notes.

Percona Monitoring and Management (PMM) 3 is the current major version of PMM that replaces PMM 2.

Important notes

*ARM64 compatibility: PMM Server can run in Compatibility mode on ARM64 architecture. PMM supports monitoring databases on both AMD64 and ARM64 architectures across supported operating systems.

**MySQL 5.7 End of Support: Support for MySQL 5.7 (both Percona Server for MySQL and the Community Edition) ended in November 2023. However, Percona offers paid support through our Post EOL MySQL 5.7 Support—Not ready to give up MySQL 5.7?

***PostgreSQL 12: Although cloud providers still support PostgreSQL 12, it has reached end-of-life (EOL) in the community and is not supported by Percona. For this reason, PostgreSQL 12 and its variants are also excluded from support on other platforms.

PMM 2 end of life

PMM 2 reached end of life on October 31, 2025, and no longer receives updates or security fixes.

If you are still running PMM 2, migrate to PMM 3 before PMM 3.13 (expected January 2027) to automatically carry over your monitoring data, dashboards, and configurations.

After that, migration will no longer be available, and you will need to install PMM 3 from scratch and re-register all monitored services.

Software Lifecycle

Overview

For Percona Software, we continue providing builds for the last three (3) major releases of Database Software and the last two (2) major releases of Tools on active Operating Systems. The most recent two (2) major Database Software releases will be in Active state, the third major release after is in Extended Support, and anything older will be EOL. Once a Percona-provided Software becomes EOL, we will continue providing services for it under the conditions of our Percona Services Lifecycle Policy, however there will be no bug fixes, new builds or new packages, and our recommend advice is to upgrade if you encounter issues.

For software that Percona bases on an upstream build, we match the upstream EOL dates. For example, Percona Server for MySQL is based on Oracle MySQL, and we will match the upstream EOL dates.

Software Lifecycle Matrix

1. Specifically for Percona Server for MongoDB and Percona Server for MySQL, we will align the end-of-life dates with those of the upstream software (MongoDB and Oracle MySQL), respectively.
2. While Percona XtraDB Cluster is affected by our general policy, a decision was made to end-of-life PXC 5.5 early, as it was our first major release of PXC, and there have been significant improvements to stability in later releases.
3. MongoDB upstream does not offer extended support, so neither do we. We EOL at the same time as MongoDB. See https://www.mongodb.com/support-policy for their EOL
4. PostgreSQL upstream does not have the concept of extended support or end of Life; they note the date of Final Release. Thus, we do not have Extended Support, and we note the EOL date on the date of the Final Release for that version as found at https://www.postgresql.org/support/versioning/
5. Operational support is provided for the last 5 minor versions. Customers will get complete support for the latest minor version. Bug fixes and improvements are not backported to older minor versions.

Software Tool Compatibility

Overview

Our Percona tool software is produced to complement and assist in operating MySQL and its derivatives, as well as MongoDB databases successfully. Below is a chart that covers which versions of MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, Percona Server for MySQL, Percona Server for MongoDB and Percona XtraDB Cluster are supported by which versions of our tools Percona Toolkit, Percona XtraBackup and Percona Monitoring and Management.
