Integrating Best of Breed Open Source Tools to Vitess: Orchestrator

Orchestrator is a MySQL​ HighAvailability​ and replication management tool, runs as a service, and provides command-line access, HTTP API, and Web interface. Orchestrator supports services that include Discovery, Refactoring, Recovery with pre/post hooks to a MySQL cluster. Vitess is a database clustering framework for managing and maintaining a healthy MySQL system with the ability to scale horizontally. Combining OpenSource​ utilities into Vitess’s ecosystem has been the mission for maintainers; hence Vtorc was born. In this talk, we will discuss failovers managed by Vtorc within the Vitess cluster with a demo of Orchestrator failover. The conversation will also include a short demo of how Vitess and Orchestrator can work together, bringing the Open Source world’s best into one. Speaker: Alkin Tezuysal – PlanetScale
