Percona is glad to announce the release of Percona Server 5.5.12-20.3on June 9, 2011 (Downloads are availablehere and from thePercona Software Repositories).

Based on MySQL 5.5.12,Percona Server 5.5.12-20.3 is now the current stable release in the 5.5 series.

Other Changes

    • The list of authors of the plugins used have been corrected. Bug Fixes:#723050 (Y. Kinoshita)

ERRATA: Due to misconceptions, bugs already fixed in the past release (5.5.11-20.2) were included in the Release Notes of this version. They have been removed for consistency, I apologize for any inconvenience.

Currently Microsoft Windows is not a supported platform by Percona Server. This will be addressed in a future but not in the short-term.

Looking everywhere I see mention in the instructions of how to install using Windows .msi but I can not find a Windows .msi to download. Am I just looking in the wrong places?

Percona Server 5.5.12 is based on MySQL 5.5.12, so you should expect all the improvements of MySQL 5.5 plus the features and improvements from Percona Server.

Since Mysql 5.5 has a lot of performance improvement, what the advantage of Percona Server 5.5.12? I can’t find any latest documents or data to say that.
