Introducing ScaleDB, the New Clustered, Distributed Storage Engine for MySQL
ScaleDB is a clustered, distributed storage engine for MariaDB, optimised for high volume, high velocity structured data. The engine primarily serves streaming data workloads, although the core has also a locking mechanism designed for OLTP workloads. The objective of this talk is to introduce the functionalities of ScaleDB as a Storage Engine for MariaDB, features, architecture, practical use cases and performance tests executed so far. The agenda is: - What is ScaleDB, architecture and features - Building ScaleDB from source - ScaleDB installation on Linux, deployment on Docker or any cloud using the scaledb-admin tool - What are Streaming tables and typical use cases - Query examples and performance
