Windowing functions in MySQL with InfiniDB
2 April 4:50PM - 5:40PM @ Ballroom G
50 minutes conference
A windowing function as defined in ANSI SQL11 performs a calculation across a set of table rows that are somehow related to the current row. The windowing functions simplify complex analytics tasks for computing cumulative, moving, centered or reporting aggregates without requiring doing sub-queries or writing stored procedures. Existing MySQL storage engines do not support this windowing function feature of ANSI SQL11. InfiniDB 4.0 is the first storage engine for MySQL that has support for windowing functions. In this session we will describe windowing functions and present how InfiniDB 4.0 allows you to perform windowing functions in your MySQL environment. We will discuss scalability of such functions in InfiniDB with growth in data volume.
