Facebook has deployed MySQL 5.6 on all production environments and has continued to add features to bring improvements. This session explains 5.6 best practices at Facebook; lessons learned; and major feature enhancements such as faster full table scan and online defrag. It also presents an overview of Facebook’s recent move to WebScaleSQL and future plans for that project.

Biography: 
Yoshinori is a database engineer at Facebook. Before joining Facebook, Yoshinori was a database and infrastructure architect at DeNA, living in Tokyo. Yoshinori's primary responsibility at DeNA is to make our database infrastructure more reliable, faster and more scalable. Before joining DeNA, Yoshinori worked at MySQL/Sun/Oracle as a lead consultant in APAC for four years. Yoshinori has written eight MySQL related technical books so far and has published technical articles about MySQL, Linux, and Java for a monthly database magazine since 2004.
Software Engineer, Facebook
Biography: 
Rongrong is currently a software engineer on MySQL Engineering team in Facebook. She has been working on MySQL for over two years now, mostly focusing on InnoDB. So far she has worked on statistics, defragmentation, logical read ahead, compression, and whatever comes up in production.
