Senior Database Administrator, SurveyMonkey
Emily has recently joined SurveyMonkey as a MySQL DBA, after 4 years of being a Platform DBA at Acquia. Emily has been in tech since 1998 - mostly working in the LAMP stack. She's been at various companies in that time, but only really got interested in MySQL while at Nokia in 2010 supporting their service that ran on Drupal. Emily is located in Portland, Oregon.
Platform Engineer, Square
Daniel has been writing MySQL tools and automation since 2004. In the early years, he created HackMySQL.com where he published some of the first open-source MySQL tools. He also blogged and wrote technical white papers for several years. From 2008 to 2016 he worked at Percona on the most widely-used open-source MySQL toolkit: Percona Toolkit. He also developed other products like the first versions of Percona Monitoring and Management (PMM). At the 2010 MySQL Conference & Expo, he was named the Community Contributor of the Year. Today, he works at Square as a DBA and Platform Engineer developing tooling and automation to manage thousands of MySQL instances.
