Percona presented two talks at PHP Quebec last week – one on A Tour of MySQL High Availability, and another on Performance Tuning MySQL. There was a great reaction to showcasing some of the quick-wins that can be found by using the Percona patches. Unfortunately, the one thing that I forgot to mention in the slides is that the patches are Open Source and free to use.

What is your/Percona’s opinion about Continuent’s Sequoia for MySQL HA?

I find it odd that it seems absent from most discussions of MySQL HA.

It offers synchronous replication. On paper it looks pretty good – I was put off by the documentation.

Wondering if you guys have ever put it through its paces.

Cheers

Morgan, I like your trick questions. Nice style, I’ll probably copy it to my own talks 🙂

Great set of slides – very useful for someone who hasn’t played with indexes that much; looking forward to some speed increases!
