Dean Ellis

Dean was hired by the original MySQL AB corporation as a support engineer and developer in 2003, after some years of providing MySQL-related help to the community via the Freenode IRC network. He moved into management of the Americas and APAC support teams, eventually taking on responsibility for the global support organization after MySQL was acquired by Sun Microsystems, retaining that role through Sun's acquisition by Oracle Corporation. He left Oracle to help start SkySQL Ab (now known as MariaDB Corporation) in 2010, leading the global MariaDB Support organization as VP Technical Support. Dean joined Percona in 2017 as Product Manager for Support, responsible for business growth across all of Percona's supported open source database technologies.
