Monitoring and Tracing MySQL or MariaDB Server With Bpftrace

Bpftrace​ is a relatively new eBPF​-based open source tracer for modern Linux versions (kernels 5.x.y) that is useful for analyzing production performance problems and troubleshooting software.

Basic usage of the tool, as well as bpftrace-based one liners and small scripts useful for MySQL, MariaDB​, Percona Server or any OpenSource​ DBAs (and even developers) are presented. Problems of MySQL server dynamic tracing with bpftrace are discussed.
