Baron Schwartz

Chief Performance Architect
Baron joined Percona in April 2008 and is a member of the Executive Management Team. As Chief Performance Architect, he develops tools and practices for Percona, speaks internationally, and consults for a limited number of customers.
Baron is the lead author of High Performance MySQL and continues to research and publish under the O'Reilly imprint. He has created several open-source software tools, including Maatkit, and has authored features for MySQL and InnoDB. He is an Oracle ACE, and the founder of the worldwide OpenSQL Camp conference series.
Prior to joining Percona, Baron developed large-scale systems for B2B and B2C integration with companies such as Amazon.com, Yahoo!, and Google. He holds a degree in Computer Science from the University of Virginia. Baron lives in Charlottesville, Virginia with his family.
