Enhancements for MySQL databases from Percona

Available Releases

Percona adds enhancements to the MySQL server code and releases these as Percona-built server binaries, with significantly more functionality than MySQL releases from Sun/MySQL.   The changes improve InnoDB performance under high loads, provide diagnostic tools useful to DBAs, and give more tunability and control over the server's behavior. The patches are authored by MySQL users such as Google http://code.google.com/p/google-mysql-tools, Proven Scaling, Open Query, and Percona itself.

Percona's binaries are based upon recent Community and Enterprise releases of the MySQL server source code. All of the MySQL source code used is licensed under v2 of the GNU Public License (GPL). All of the patches added by Percona are also released under open source licenses such as the GPL or BSD.  This means that all binaries may be downloaded and used without cost under the same license terms.

Percona provides builds only of the MySQL server, not for any other Sun/MySQL software such as Connectors, GUI tools, etc.
