MySQL Emergency? Call right now and get help

Percona builds binaries that contain recent versions of the MySQL database server, plus additional popular patches not included in the official binaries from MySQL/Sun.   Some patches improve InnoDB performance under high loads.  Others provide diagnostic tools useful to DBAs. The patches are authored by MySQL users like Google http://code.google.com/p/google-mysql-tools, Proven Scaling, Open Query, and Percona itself.

Percona's binaries are based upon recent releases of the MySQL server source code. These can be either MySQL Community or MySQL Enterprise, and production (GA) or release candidate (RC) readiness. However all of the MySQL source code used is licensed under v2 of the GNU Public License (GPL). All of the patches added by Percona are also released under open source licenses like the GPL or BSD.  This means that all binaries may be downloaded and used without cost unless the software is commercially resold.

Percona provides builds only of the MySQL server, but not for any other MySQL/Sun software such as Connectors, GUI tools, etc.
