Laurynas Biveinis

Laurynas joined Percona in March 2011 as a member of the Percona Server, Percona XtraDB and Percona XtraBackup development group.Before coming to Percona, Laurynas was a PhD student at Aalborg University, in Denmark, where he did research on physical database indexes. As a PhD student, Laurynas collaborated with the database group at École Polytechnique Fédérale in Lausanne, Switzerland, where he worked on new ways to store large-scale spatial models of the brain.Laurynas has been programming using C and C++ for more than ten years. His experience includes software development positions in several companies in the "Alna" group in Lithuania, as well as an internship with Google. He has been very involved with open source software; in 2006, he participated in Google's Summer of Code, and to this day he hacks on the GCC compiler.Laurynas grew up and lives in Vilnius, Lithuania, with his wife.
