Best Practices Migrating to Open Source Databases
This is a high-level presentation that discusses the history of enterprise open source database use. It addresses both the advantages companies see in using open source database technologies, as well as the fears and reservations they might have. In this presentation, we will look at how to address such concerns to help get a migration commitment. We’ll cover picking the right project, selecting the right organizational team to manage migration, and developing the right migration path to maximize migration success (from technical and organizational standpoint).

Peter blogs regularly on Percona Database Performance Blog and speaks frequently at conferences. Peter lives in North Carolina with his wife and two children.
