Memory Channel Storage (MCS) is the fastest flash technology tested thus far. In this joint session with Diablo Technologies, we will discuss the performance characteristics of MCS and detail its underlying architecture. We will also discuss best practices for deployment with Percona Server and demonstrate that MCS eliminates the MySQL storage bottlenecks faced by pre-existing PCI-express based solid state drive (SSD) solutions. Linkbench benchmarking and other supporting performance results will be disclosed.


Principal Architect, Percona
Peter joined the European consulting team in May 2012. Before joining Percona, among many other things, he worked at Sun Microsystems, specialized there in performance tuning and was a DBA at Hungary's largest social networking site. He also taught many Oracle University MySQL courses. He has been using and working with open source software from early 2000s. Peter's first and foremost professional interest is performance tuning. He currently lives in Budapest, Hungary with his wife and son.
Senior Software Architect, Diablo Technologies
Bart Trojanowski is Senior Software Architect at Diablo Technologies, with over 15 years of experience in the field of Linux kernel development. Prior to Diablo, Bart held several consulting positions, where he steered the design and implementation of embedded platforms for clients across the high-tech landscape. Bart holds a B.S. in Computer Science with a concentration in Software from Carleton University.
