CTO, Fifth Sigma, Inc.
Tim Ellis presided over some of the largest online database installations in the world at such places as Riot Games, Digg, Mozilla, and StumbleUpon. He was also lead data architect on large projects such as the Firefox Sync backend and the Obama for America 2012 campaign. Tim has been on the forefront of large cluster methodologies. Since the late 1990's, he has been employing algorithmic administration techniques that have become staples of the Opsdev movement. In the last 5 years, he began building hybrid database clusters, using MySQL for relational data and distributed non-transactional databases such as Hadoop (HBase) to store key/value or sparse hash map data.
