Achieving High Availability with MySQL is a tricky thing; there are almost as many recipes as there are cooks out there. This talk will go through the most common solutions for achieving HA with MySQL and list the pros and cons for each of them. The solutions include standard replication (includinng new features in MySQL 5.6 and MariaDB 10), MHA, Continuent Tungsten, Galera based solutions, shared-disk based solutions and MySQL Cluster

Max Mether, a native of Finland received his M.Sc (Eng) in Physics and Maths from Helsinki University of Technology. Max joined MySQL AB in 2001 starting as a Consultant and an Instructor and ended up creating the MySQL training program and managing the curriculum under MySQL AB and later at Sun. As a co-founder Max now manages the professional services team at MariaDB and helps advance the MySQL eco-system around the world.
