Kevin Jernigan is a Principal Product Manager in the Amazon RDS team, responsible for product management for Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL. He started his career at Oracle in 1987, as a product manager responsible for Oracle Database benchmarks, utilities, and Oracle Parallel Server, now called Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC). In 1994, he co-founded Emergent Technologies, a technology consulting company that specialized in high-end DW and OLTP database implementations. After selling Emergent in 1999, he co-founded Xpiron in 2000, which provided online booking management services to health & fitness clubs. Kevin returned to Oracle in 2009, as a product manager responsible for more than twenty Oracle Database features related to performance and storage management, including Advanced Compression, Database In-Memory, Hybrid Columnar Compression, and Information Lifecycle Management (ILM). He joined AWS in January 2016.
