Automating database migration - Amazon DMS
How AWS Database Migration Service enables database freedom Database freedom is a powerful thing. If you look at how companies have been locked into places with their database providers for a number of years, you can understand the trepidation. Those proprietary offerings are expensive with punitive licensing and auditing terms. Since its launch in March 2016, AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) and AWS Schema Conversion Tool (SCT) have helped Amazon customers to breakout from this vicious cycle by allowing customers to migrate off commercial databases and data warehouses, such as Oracle, MS SQL Server and Teradata into open source database engines, such as MySQL, PostgreSQL and Amazon Aurora. In this session, we will discuss and demonstrate how DMS and SCT allow customers to achieve database freedom.
