Are you attending MongoDB World 2014? If so, I’d like to invite you to race ahead of the morning joggers by attending a breakfast meet-up where you’ll be able to discuss your big data challenges with database gurus:
- Mark Callaghan of Facebook (and the Small Datum blog)
- Kenny Gorman of ObjectRocket by Rackspace
- Charity Majors of Parse (and MongoDB World keynote speaker)
Of course, key members of the TokuMX team will be on hand and you’ll also get to meet the 2014 winners of the TokuMX Innovation Awards.
The meet-up will be on Wednesday morning, June 25th, at 7:00AM, a short walk from the MongoDB World venue. Unfortunately, space is limited, so if you’re interested I urge you to register your interest right away by R.S.V.P.’ing here: Scale Up & Slim Down with TokuMX Breakfast Meet-up.
If you prefer, you can also tell us about your nomination via email by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
I hope you decide to join us.
By the way, if you aren’t already familiar with Mark, Kenny and Charity you can read more about them below.
Mark Callaghan made MySQL better for scale-out deployments at Facebook and Google for 9 years. He continues to focus on small data (OLTP) via write-optimized databases like RocksDB, WiredTiger and TokuDB and has begun to help with MongoDB. Prior to his work in the web-scale industry he spent many years working on RDBMS internals at Oracle and Informix.
Kenny has 15 years of experience with various database platforms behind some of the busiest websites in the world. He has had roles as Architect, Director, Manager, Developer, and DBA. He was a key member of the early teams that scaled PayPal and then eBay, and most recently was an early adopter of MongoDB using it for various large projects at Shutterfly. He has been an active MongoDB community member, speaker, MongoDB evangelist, and now MongoDB Master.
Charity is Production Engineering Manager for Parse at Facebook. Parse powers a rapidly growing list of popular mobile applications and her team faces many unique operational challenges with MongoDB. She is responsible for managing this fast-growing and rapidly evolving system. She is also a keynote speaker MongoDB World 2014.
