Automatically Deployed MySQL Geo-Clustering for Every Situation with Continuent Tungsten
3 April 11:10AM - 12:00PM @ Ballroom H
50 minutes conference
Database environments are becoming increasingly complex with data being stored in many servers and datacenters. Continuent is a leading provider of database clustering and replication, enabling enterprises to run business-critical applications on cost-effective open source software. Continuent Tungsten provides enterprise-class high availability, globally redundant data distribution and real-time heterogeneous data integration in cloud and on-premises environments. - Automatic recovery after master database failure - Connection proxy to simplify application configuration - Simple provisioning for new or failed database servers - All-Master replication allows active writes to each cluster - A consistent Global Transaction ID gives you visibility into replication status on all nodes - Simple utilities allow you to check replication health across all servers Our customers represent the most innovative and successful organizations in the world, handling billions of transactions daily across a wide range of industries. With the growing need to deploy these solutions in cloud environments like AWS, we have developed a toolset based on Puppet to deploy entire environments in a simple and repeatable way. In this talk we will discuss the approach we have developed to simplify AWS deployment and demonstrate building out a high availability cluster in a single region. We will then migrate that cluster to support simultaneous writes in multiple regions and availability zones.
