LT: MySQL Replication mythology

24 April 5:30pm - 8:30pm @ Community Networking Welcome Reception

Lightning Talk: Although MySQL replication technology has been around for more than a decade, some of its features are often misunderstood. Not only that, but popular beliefs sometimes defy reality. This talk will take you in the unchartered land of MySQL Replication mythology, where we find real monsters (the Two-Faced filter, the Error-Skip devil, the Slave-Writing dragon, among others) and true fabled beasts, such as the Conflict-Resolution fairy, the Write-Scale-Master elf, the Multi-Source ghost, the Circular snake, the Replication-Is-My-Backup siren, and more. There are other monsters, which we may not know if they are real or imaginary, but we need to know that they may get us if we are not careful.
