    Torben Mathiasen is an application architect at Fusion-io, where he spends his time tuning and evaluating software stacks for optimal performance and reliability. Prior to joining Fusion-io, he spent 11 years at Hewlett-Packard, architecting firmware for the ProLiant BladeServer portfolio. He also held a senior system architect position at Prevas, designing the next generation embedded systems for use by customers around the globe. He has made contributions to the Linux kernel in areas like ethernet, PCI-X and storage controller drivers.
  • CTO, co-founder , Percona Inc
    Vadim leads Percona's development group, which produces the Percona Server, Percona XtraDB, and Percona XtraBackup. He is an expert in LAMP performance, especially optimizing MySQL and InnoDB internals to take full advantage of modern hardware using his multi-threaded programming background. At Percona Vadim also designs no-gimmicks benchmark tests of hardware, filesystems, storage engines, and databases. He focuses on real-world performance and functionality scenarios that are often missed by standard benchmarks. Vadim actively consults for many Alexa Top 1000 web properties, but has an increasing focus on hardware appliances and storage engines. He is leading Percona's emerging expertise in solid-state storage with his launch of the SSD Performance Blog.
  • Principal Support Engineer , Percona
    Valerii joined Percona in September 2012 as a Principal Support Engineer. Before that Valerii worked in the Bugs Verification group of MySQL Support team at MySQL AB/Sun/Oracle for more than seven years. During all this time he processed bugs at http://bugs.mysql.com. He had also worked on complex support issues, coordinated cooperation of MySQL Support with optimizer, GUI tools and some other development teams. Later he was also responsible for decision making from Support side on bug fixing in all MySQL GA versions. Before joining MySQL AB Valerii worked as software developer, trainer, system administrator and DBA for Oracle and Informix databases. Valerii got a degree in Mathematics from the Moscow State University back in 1992. He currently lives with his family in the small town of Vyshgorod near Kyiv, Ukraine.

    Vipul Sabhaya works in the HP Cloud Platform Services team out of Seattle as a Lead Software Developer. Vipul led the HP Cloud effort to get a Database as a Service product to Private Beta with Openstack RedDwarf. Vipul is excited about building awesome community-based Platform as a Service software on top of Openstack. Before joining HP Cloud, Vipul worked on architecture and development of Cloud-based B2B Integration Platform at Hubspan. Vipul graduated with a Bachelors in Computer Science from the University of Washington.

    Vladimir has been helping people to scale their LAMP applications for more than 10 years, with a focus on performance optimization, architectural choices and deep knowledge of full-text search and MySQL technologies. As a consultant he provides high-profile operational support and performance tuning on large, distributed open source database platforms. In the past he was worked with high-performance systems as a developer and team leader. He's spoken in the past at numerous OSS conferences and meet-ups in the US and EU. In his off-duty time he enjoys traveling, bicycling and photography.

    Yoshinori is a database engineer at Facebook. Before joining Facebook, Yoshinori was a database and infrastructure architect at DeNA, living in Tokyo. Yoshinori's primary responsibility at DeNA is to make our database infrastructure more reliable, faster and more scalable. Before joining DeNA, Yoshinori worked at MySQL/Sun/Oracle as a lead consultant in APAC for four years. Yoshinori has written eight MySQL related technical books so far and has published technical articles about MySQL, Linux, and Java for a monthly database magazine since 2004.
  • Big Data Consultant / Solutions Architect , Pythian
    Danil Zburivsky, Big Data Consultant/Solutions Architect, Pythian. Danil has been working with databases and information systems since his early years in university, where he received a Master's Degree in Applied Math. Danil has 7 years of experience architecting, building and supporting large mission-critical data platforms using various flavours of MySQL, Hadoop and MongoDB. He is also the author of “Hadoop Cluster Deployment” book. Besides databases Danil is interested in functional programming, machine learning and rock climbing.
