Abstract

Stored Routines (procedures and functions) are new in MySQL 5.0. Stored routines in other RDBMS systems have been blamed for poor performance, in addition to being hard to manage and maintain. This talk will focus on stored routines in MySQL 5.0 and share some performance data and best practices for using stored routines smartly and effectively.
