  • Percona Cluster does not start (1:5.5.34-25.9.607) Query cache is not supported

    This morning I executed the following command on our nodes to update all packages.

    sudo yum update

    I did not expect that the system is automatically restarting the Percona mysql servers during the update. It did.
    Like you would expect the mysql servers were not restarting as expected:

    node003 /mnt/storage/mysql/ip-10-239-75-9.err

    ...
    140207 7:48:43 [ERROR] WSREP: Query cache is not supported (size=33554432 type=0) 140207 7:48:43
    [ERROR] Aborting
    ...

    I added query_cache_size=0 and query_cache_type=0 to /etc/my.cnf but still the same problem arised.
    I used the mysqld section:

    node003 /etc/my.cnf

    [mysqld]
    datadir=/mnt/storage/mysql
    socket=/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock
    user=mysql
    binlog_format=ROW
    # Query Cache is not supported with wsrep
    query_cache_type=0
    query_cache_size=0M
    query_cache_limit=0
    wsrep_provider=/usr/lib64/libgalera_smm.so
    ...

    In the end I solved it by directly adding the property to the command line start

    /etc/init.d/mysql start --query_cache_size=0
    /etc/init.d/mysql bootstrap-pxc --query_cache_size=0

    I also edited /etc/init.d/mysql afterwards and set other_args="$* --query_cache_size=0".

    Did I made something wrong during the update?

    No need to edit /etc/init.d/mysql , just comment out those query_cache... variables in u r my.cnf files and it will be ok.

    Working...
