  • How to balance user load !!!

    Hello all,

I am currently have a 2 server setup one running :-

    "CentOS release 5.8" with Percona DB server [ Processor = 2, cores = 8 / 32 GB RAM ],
and the other running "Percona Replciation server"

Now the issue is, My clients user base is increasing and at the moment they regularly have 60+ concurrent

connections to the master database server and during peak times the connections also crosses 200+ concurrent sessions.

This is when the users start to get "time-out" error on their screens from the DB server.

I need to provide the client a solution, and i think adding another 3rd machine to this network as "Percona XtraDB Cluster " may resolve his issue, BUT i am NOT sure !!!

Can any one here comment on my thoughts OR suggest me what i need to do to resolve this issue or any other recourse that i can follow !!

    Please assist !!!

Thank you all for your time.

It is hard to provide a single answer without knowing the storage engine, and without knowing whether the problem is reading or writing to the database.

If mutex contention or cpu power is not the problem, that will become clear from the disk utilization, as shown by e.g. iostat.
