  • CPU_TIME in stats

    Hello,

could somebody please confirm whether CPU_TIME in USER_STATISTICS are measured in seconds ? There is a documentation here at http://www.percona.com/docs/wiki/percona-server:features:use rstatv2 though it's not specified.

    Thank you.

I'm 99% sure it is. I'll ask the documentation engineer to clarify.

It's measured in seconds, I'll update the documentation shortly.

        Thank you

Could you please tell me whether this this value supposed to be lower in case of adding CPU cores under the same load ?

The fact is that I added 3 cores to VM running percona mysql and but this value stays the same; I thought it would use extra cores, increase computing speed therefore lowering CPU time.

        Thanks.

You're misunderstanding how it works. The CPU time consumption is determined by the number of instructions executed, and no matter how many CPUs you have, the instructions have to be executed. (There are complexities in how things execute, and even in how CPU time is measured, but that's off-topic.)

If you use faster CPUs, I'd generally expect CPU time to decrease, all other things remaining constant.
