    Just wondering if somebody came across an issue in Percona 5.1.{54,56,57,58} for rhel5 x86_64 where a lot of error messages generated to .err file but the query itself works fine.

    I don't remember seeing that error message in any version of MySQL, ever. Is it reproducible on stock MySQL?

      There is no stock MySQL 5.1 in CentOS 5 or epel repos.
      However, we could not reproduce it in MacOS or Gentoo versions (both 5.1.56).

        You won't be able to get stock MySQL from the repositories, correct. You should download from mysql.com to get the authoritative version. (I am not a big fan of the altered versions that the OS vendors distribute.) Gentoo's version is heavily modified as well, and includes a bunch of patches derived from Percona's work. I don't know anything about what MacOS version you're using. I would try to reproduce it on the official MySQL, and if you can't, then submit a bug report.
