On Percona Live New York I’ll be giving two talks “Percona XtraDB Cluster: HA solution for MySQL”. I will give introduction in MySQL clustering and show how Percona XtraDB Cluster solves HA and scalability problems. MySQL and SSD: usage and tuning. If you follow this blog, you know that I do quite a bit experiments […]
I continue my benchmarks of Intel SSD 910, previous time I compared it with Fusion-io ioDrive http://www.percona.com/blog/2012/09/07/intel-ssd-910-in-tpcc-mysql-benchmark/. Now I want to test this card against RAID over spinning disks.
I continue my benchmarks of Intel SSD 910, the raw IO results are available in my previous experiment. Now I want to test this card under MySQL workload to see if the card is suitable to use with MySQL. Benchmark date: Sep-2012 Benchmark goal: Test Intel SSD 910 under tpcc-mysql workload and compare with baseline […]
In my raw IO benchmark of Intel 520 SSD we saw that the drive does not provide uniform throughput and response time, but it is interesting how does it affect workload if it comes from MySQL. I prepared benchmarks results for Sysbench OLTP workload with MySQL running on Intel 520. You can download it there.
Just as a reminder – tomorrow, May-9, 2012, at 11am PDT I will be giving a free webinar “MySQL and SSD”. This is the same talk I gave on Percona Live MySQL Conference, so if you were there – you probably will find nothing new. Otherwise, you are welcome to join!
If you are terrified by the stability of the results in MySQL in my previous post, I am going to show what we can get with Percona Server. This is also to address the results presented there Benchmarking MariaDB-5.3.4
This blog post was inspired by my visit at the annual Zabbix Conference in Riga, Latvia this year, where I gave a couple of talks on MySQL and beyond. It was a two day single-track event with some 200 participants, a number of interesting talks on Zabbix (and related technologies) and really well-organized evening activities. […]
Autumn is a season of MySQL-related conferences and I’m about to hit the road to speak and attend quite a few of them. This week I’ll participate in All Things Open, a local conference for me here in Raleigh, N.C. and therefore one I do not have to travel for. All Things Open explores open source, […]
MySQL replication is a core process for maintaining multiple copies of data – and replication is a very important aspect in database administration. In order to synchronize data between master and slaves you need to make sure that data transfers smoothly, and to do so you need to act promptly regarding replication errors to continue […]
Here on the Percona Support team we often ask customers to retrieve disk stats to monitor disk IO and to measure block devices iops and latency. There are a number of tools available to monitor IO on Linux. iostat is one of the popular tools and Percona Toolkit, which is free, contains the pt-diskstats tool […]
