Percona Launches Training on InnoDB/XtraDB Storage Engines for MySQL Databases

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PLEASANTON, Calif., Aug. 24, 2009 -- Percona LLC (http://www.percona.com/training), provider of pay-as-you-go consulting for the popular LAMP stack and other open-source software, announced today training workshops for InnoDB and XtraDB, which are among the most widely used storage engines for the open-source MySQL database.

Percona's training is the first ever in North America exclusively focused on InnoDB. XtraDB is a fork of InnoDB under the GPL license, with development led by Percona. XtraDB adds key features to InnoDB to improve its usability and performance on modern computer hardware.

Jeremy Zawodny, the software engineer responsible for the MySQL installation at Craigslist, said, "InnoDB performance is THE key to keeping a MySQL server running efficiently. Percona's extensive hands-on performance tuning experience will help turn this black art into skills that mere mortals can apply with confidence."

The initial training will be delivered in Santa Clara, CA and San Francisco, CA on September 14 and 16, 2009, respectively. Percona has also announced the immediate availability of onsite training, delivered at the customer's location.
