Ignacio joined the company as a Consultant in April 2010. Initially he worked in the 24x7 support team, and is now also working as a Build Engineer in the development group.
Before coming to Percona, "Nacho" had worked with LAMP stacks for about eight years. He started out to become an Electrical Engineer, but fairly soon he was attracted to a career in software development. He has served in a mixture of both development and system administration roles emphasizing the development of network protocols that stress security and performance, and he is now an expert in that field.
Nacho has been an open source enthusiast for a long time and is happy to be working for a company that promotes that concept. Being a Uruguayan national, he lives and works from his home in Montevideo, but frequently spends time along the Uruguayan coast in the summer and the city of Buenos Aires in the winter.
