Percona Inc was started in August 2006 by Peter Zaitsev and Vadim Tkachenko. Our goal was to help businesses with their MySQL databases and LAMP Applications in the areas of architecture and design, scaling, performance optimization, high availability, and operations.

Since then we've used our expertise to help hundreds of customers, and we've been joined in our consulting practice by Aurimas Mikalauskas, Macej Dobrzanski, Alexey Kovyrin, and Baron Schwartz. All our consultants have significant experience in designing, implementing, and running high-performance MySQL-based Web applications, and all of them have a solid computer science background.

In addition to our consulting practice, we have a passion for developing web projects on our own and in partnerships. Currently we're working on ClickAider, a click tracking solution for publishers and BoardReader, a forum search engine. We also sponsor development of Sphinx, a full text search engine for database content. We develop various MySQL tools and extensions, publish our performance research for free at MySQL Performance Blog, and speak at conferences related to MySQL and web scaling.
